Young@ART FOR SENIORS

Amarillo Museum of Art’s Young@ART program provides art education and art classes for seniors in retirement, assisted living and nursing centers.  Programs are a combination of art history lessons and hands on art activities.

Each participating facility receives 6 outreach programs per year (February – April & September – November) in addition to complimentary docent-led tours of AMoA exhibitions.  Each program is researched, coordinated and conducted by either AMoA education staff or a trained docent.

Monthly participation in the Young@ART programs averages 100-120 residents each month and AMoA Young@ART programs impact between 600 and 700 seniors annually.
