The Collection of Davis Riemer and Louise Rothman-Riemer
Davis Riemer and Louise Rothman-Riemer are investment advisers based in Oakland, California. They began collecting art in 1995 and amassed a vast collection of unique currency-themed artworks, Their passion for collecting and sharing their collection is guided by the goal of encouraging new attitudes about money’s perceived and intrinsic value. During the past few years, the exhibition, Cultural Currency: Contemporary Art from the Riemer Collection has been touring museums around the country. The artists in the exhibition investigate monetary value by meticulously repurposing bills and coins into exquisite, conceptually engaging artworks.
