This 65 page catalogue was created for the exhibition Illusion and Reality: Japanese Prints and Paintings from the Collection of Dr. and Mrs. William T. Price features 30 full color illustrations and 56 black and white illustrations. This exhibition featured over 100 Japanese woodblock prints and paintings from the Edo Period (1615-1868). Though these prints may often be seen as simply beautiful and decorative, they are rich in cultural content about the time period. The catalogue features eight scholarly essays by Dr. John Teramoto, Cori Sherman and Dr. Fukimo Y. Yamamoto. Dr. Teramoto, who was the Museum's Consulting Curator for Asian Art from January 1998 through May 1999, is currently a Fellow at the International Research Center for Japanese Studies in Kyoto, Japan.
